Welcome Baby Brett

Brett Clayton Salisbury came 5 days early on April 6, weighed 9 lbs 6 oz, and was 21 inches long. He's a sweet, calm, mellow little guy (thankfully since he was number 5!!) and seems to sleep better amongst all the hubbub going on in the family room, than back in my bedroom where it is nice and quiet. We are so happy to have another little baby boy in our family! It really is wonderful. (Just a fair warning--LOTS of pictures.)

My mom got to come stay for a long time--we didn't let her leave for 2 1/2 weeks, but it felt like just a few days. Never long enough! She helped SOOOOOOOOOOOO much and the kids loved having her here and all the extra attention and love. Definitely smoothed the crazy transition to 5 kids for the other 4 . . . and me.

My BOYS

This is Heidi's favorite toy right now. She asks you to draw something then immediately erases it. Most of the time she is asking you to draw a bee. So Grandma named it the Bee Board.
Admiring the caterpillar.

Heidi still has a thing for shoes. She wears them on her feet now, not her hands, these are Ryans she is modeling for us.
Notice the shoes?
and the baseball cleats make a really nice clomping sound when you walk in them

better than a sleeping pill

Heidi and Ryan have become better friends since the baby came

We made a strawberry pizza in honor Traci's birthday on the 14 of April. Happy Birthday Traci!! Wish you could have been here to celebrate with us!

Isaac lost his first tooth. The Tooth Fairy didn't come for two nights. Isaac had told his cousin that she wasn't real--didn't hear that at home--so I told him that maybe she didn't come for two nights because he didn't believe in her. I'm pretty sure she was just a little exhausted but Isaac made a sign to make sure she didn't forget the third night.

Heidi made friends at the kids' soccer games.

Ryan got his first trophy ever--he wouldn't put that thing down even at home. He would have slept with it if we hadn't told him it might break it.

The kids all had their last soccer game on the Saturday before Easter, but we managed to fit in the neighborhood Easter egg hunt. Isaac was at his game but we combined the spoils and the other kids shared with him. Heidi LOVED finding eggs. She didn't realize there was candy inside them and would pick up empty ones that others had thrown away.

We had a small Easter egg hunt at home too, on Sunday evening. We told the kids we had asked the Easter bunny if we could give them the treats etc this year, so they knew we were hiding the eggs and surprises. Later I heard Isaac say "I like it better when the Easter bunny comes, the surprises are better and there is more candy." Hmmm.

Brett's first bath. Curt wasn't home, so I let Nicole and Isaac be my photographer--hoping for at least a couple good shots. I was pleasantly surprised!
