March Highlights

Nicole's first Science Fair

I LOVE WHAT YOU DO FOR ME--TOYOTA!!--We finally bought a van to make room for baby number 4. Red, 2006 Toyota Sienna. A few days later Isaac says--"Mom if we have too many more kids, we're going to need to buy a limo."

What Nicole can talk the boys into on a rainy day--they must have thought they had singlets on because after a little dancing it turned to wrestling.

Spring Break in AZ--visit Peterson cousins for a week, then go to Uncle Eric Salisbury's wedding.--Too many pictures to post--on other families blogs anyway. Had more fun than we could handle!!

Self Portrait

In my freshman art class in college, I had to draw a self portrait. It didn't remotely resembly me. I remember contemplating how difficult it is to draw someone you see so often. I have also discovered over the years that drawings of people with strange facial features are quite easy to make look realistic. A couple of days ago, I saw a profile photo of me and declared "hey, that is a view of myself I rarely see - and I look like a troll - I bet I could draw my profile much better than I could draw myself facing forward." So, I sat down and did it in Microsoft Paint during conference. What do you think?

Making the connection

Ryan is doing pretty good connecting with a pitched ball...especially for a 2 year old. Isaac and Nicole do really well - their recruiting videos are soon to come:).

Some Salisbury Vocabulary ,Funnies and Sweet things too

These are some of my favorite things to read on other people's blogs (the funny things kids say), so I'd thought I'd share a few myself . . .

"Ow-bries"--Isaac saying eye brows

"Don't worry Mom, I won't crack myself" Ryan-- when climbing out of the car. (Several weeks ago, he had a spill--head first--when climbing out of the car. Could also be due to the fact that we know someone who really did have a terrible spill and cracked their skull--we used this story as a scare/explaning tactic to our kids. Also, Ryan is familiar with "Humpy Dumpy.")

Nicole--is a little planner as of late. For her birthday she made a list with a box next to each item so it could be crossed off, of things she wanted done for her birthday. Star cake, streamers, balloons, presents, etc. Then again for St. Patricks day. The list read: leprechaun trap, dinner, decorations, St. Patricks day floats, hair thing.

"I just cus-plained (explained) it to you"  Isaac 

"Mom, I won't squish on you"--Ryan --I've been very sensitive lately to elbows in my tummy when we are sitting next to each other reading on the couch.

"We're thankful we can know that this is the true church"--Nicole when praying.

Nicole is convinced that Leprechauns are real. She had to make a leprechaun trap for school and while she was making it Isaac very nicely and matter of fact said they aren't real. She was pretty upset, and said he was just being mean. She's still a believer.

"This is a girl baby, and this is a boy baby"--Ryan--pointing to two lumps on the front side of me that are larger than the one lump where the real baby is. Boy is he confused!

What's faster, a fighter jet or a race car? me --fighter jet "That's what I want to drive." Isaac
