Spring Break--a week early . . .

Sabrina and Gary and their cute family drove down from Washington for their spring break.  Unfortunately our spring break wasn't until the next week, but we were able to take a few days off and had more "fun" during our week early spring break than our real one thanks to them coming!

Gary and Sabrina in San Francisco--my kids had to go to school this day

Tuesday I pulled the kids out of school and we drove down to Capitola/Santa Cruz to our favorite beach.  The plus of it being on a school day was that there weren't very many other people at the beach and no Saturday beach traffic.  It ended up also being a good day for seashells and beach glass, there was lots of beach combing we got to do that day.

Wednesday--Jelly Belly (after school)

Brett had to have a picture next to the jelly belly car

Curt was able to join us for this excursion!

Thursday--kids at school again and Gary and Sabrina did some hiking on Mt. Diablo

Saturday--Muir Woods

Heidi and Soren

The highlight of our Muir Woods trip was seeing this baby deer that was born earlier that morning!  The Ranger had been keeping an eye on him/her? since the mom had been scared away by the people.  It was seriously 3 feet away from the wooden walkway right at the entrance to the park.  We also saw a river otter and lots of banana slugs and  millipedes.  Pretty sure we were part of the spectacle that day as well with 10 kids between us walking around together. :-)

Time to call it a day.  Amber and Peter fell asleep within minutes of buckling into their car seats.

This one is cute because Gary and Sabrina got up really early to leave in the morning and Nicole Isaac and Ryan got up REALLY early too so they could eek out every last second of cousin time they could!
